Lajpat Nagar Central Market – 0 KM

Just one step from CR Amby Inn is centered on the sprawling Central Market, a colorful maze of narrow lanes with stalls and shops selling vivid saris, embroidered fabrics, kitchenware and herbal cosmetics. There are also plenty of henna tattooists and street food stands offering samosas, momo dumplings and fried aloo tikki patties. Pragati Maidan – 15 Minutes’ drive (approx. 7 KM’s)

Pragati Maidan is a venue for large exhibitions and conventions in New Delhi. It is having an area of nearly 150 acres (more than 625,000 square meters of exhibition space, is the biggest exhibition center in Delhi. It is owned, operated, controlled and managed by India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO), the trade promotion agency of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Govt. of India.

 

India Gate – 20 Minutes’ drive (approx. 7.5 KM’s)

The 42 meters high, freestanding arch was designed by Lutyens and built in 1931. It was originally called the All India War Memorial in memory of the 90,000 soldiers of the Indian Army who died in World War I. in 1971 and Eternal Flame was lit here to honor the Amar Jawan (Eternal Soldier).

 

Parliament House – 25 Minutes’ drive (approx. 8.5 KM’s)

A marvelous piece of architecture, close to rashtrapati bhawan, it is a domed structure almost 5 kilometer in circumference, and was designed by the famed architect Lutyen. It is the seat of the Indian Parliament.

 

Dilli Haat – 20 Minutes’ drive (approx. 4.5 KM’s)

The Dilli haat, located opposite the INA Market, jointly set by the New Delhi Municipal Council and Delhi Tourism. One of the primary objectives of setting this complex was to provide marketing facilities to rural artisans. It is an ideal place to spend some time while admiring the great array of handicrafts, Jewellery, garments and artifacts representing the workmanship of almost all parts of the country.

 

Red Fort – 35 Minutes’ drive (approx. 11.5 KM’s)

Red fort or Lal quila, laid out along the river Yamuna as an irregular octagon and is built of red sandstone. The fort has two entrances, the delhi gate and the lahori gate which faces the famous chandni chowk market.

 

Jama Masjid – 40 Minutes’ drive (approx. 11.9 KM’s)

The largest mosque in the country, built in 1656, it lies opposite to the Red Fort. The flight of stairs and its large courtyard are marvels of architecture
Cremation sites of National Leaders : On the banks of the river Yamuna are the national shrines: Raj Ghat (Mahatma Gandhi), Shanti Vana (Jawaharlal Nehru), Vijay Ghat (Lal Bahadur Shastri), Shakti Sthal (Indira Gandhi), Vir Bhumi (Rajiv Gandhi).

 

Connaught Place – 25 Minutes’ drive (approx. 9 KM’s)

Connaught Place is one of the largest financial, commercial and business centers in New Delhi, India. It is often abbreviated as CP and houses of the headquarters of several noted Indian firms. This has been centered on a ring of colonnaded Georgian-style buildings with global chain stores, vintage cinemas, bars and Indian restaurants. Stalls at Janpath Market sell saris, embroidered bags and trinkets. The peaceful Sikh temple Gurdwara Bangla Sahib is known for its reflecting pool, and Jantar Mantar is a 1700s observatory with huge astronomical instruments.
